‘Harlots’ Loses UK Broadcaster Following ITV Encore Closure, ITVSGE Seeks New Home
EXCLUSIVE: Following the closure of pay channel ITV Encore earlier this year, ITV has opted not to proceed with any further seasons of Harlots, TVWise can reveal. There had been some question as to whether or not it would move to the main channel as fellow ITV Encore originals The Frankenstein Chronicles and Dark Heart did. The news comes on the heels of U.S. streaming service Hulu, who were originally co-producers, stepping up to fully commission an eight episode third season. I hear that ITV Studios Global Entertainment is now seeking a new home for the second and third seasons of Harlots here in the UK. 
The second season of Jorskott will receive its UK premiere on ITV Encore on Thursday October 19th at 10pm, it has been announced. 
The fifth season of FX's cold war spy drama The Americans will receive its UK premiere on ITV Encore on Monday June 12th at 10pm, it has been announced. 
ITV Encore has tapped Lewis star Laurence Fox for a starring role in the second season of their original drama series The Frankenstein Chronicles, TVWise has learned. While details of the character Fox will be playing were not immediately available, it is expected to be a major role. Also joining the cast for season two is Maeve Dermody (SS-GB, And Then There Were None). 
ITV Encore is adding to their slate of originals. The ITV owned and operated pay channel has given the green-light to Bancroft, a four-part police thriller with two women at its heart, from Ice Cream Girls Scribe Kate Brooke, TVWise has learned. 
ITV Encore's Tom Riley (Da Vinci's Demons) fronted two-hour drama Dark Heart will premiere on Wednesday November 9th at 9pm, it has been announced.
