Showtime Picks Up ‘Homeland’ For 7th & 8th Season, ‘Ray Donovan’ Also Renewed
Showtime has officially pulled the trigger on a two-season pick-up for Homeland and renewed the CIA drama for a seventh and eighth season, TVWise has learned. Liev Schreiber fronted LA fixer drama Ray Donovan has also been renewed for a fifth season. 
Hill Harper (CSI: NY, Covert Affairs) and Patrick Sabongui (The Flash, The Art Of More) have been tapped for major recurring roles on the sixth season of Showtime's CIA drama Homeland, TVWise has learned. Harper will play the incoming president's chief of staff, while Sanongui is set as a CUNY law professor and advocate for the Muslim-American community.
Showtime has found the President-Elect for the upcoming sixth season of Homeland. Elizabeth Marvel has been set as Elizabeth Keane, the former US Senator for the state of New York who recently won the election and is waiting to be sworn in as the next President of the United States. The character is described as a natural politician who can be bright, charming, lively and blunt. 
The fifth season of Showtime's counter-terrorism drama Homeland will receive its UK premiere on Channel 4 on Sunday October 11th at 9pm, it has been announced.
