Last night, during the second season finale of True Detective, the premium cable network dropped the first look at the upcoming ten episode series which is based on the feature film of the same name and hails from super-producer J.J. HBO Orders 70s Porn Drama, ‘Capitol Hill’ Pilots From ‘The Wire’ Creator David Simon

HBO is staying in business with The Wire creator David Simon. The premium cable network has given the greenlight to two hour-long drama projects from Simon. The first, starring James Franco, is set in the world of the porn industry in the 1970s; while the second is a contemporary political drama set on Capitol Hill.

James Cromwell Joins HBO/Sky/Canal+ Co-Pro ‘The Young Pope’

Sky, HBO and Canal+ are adding to the cast of their co-production The Young Pope. Award winning actor James Cromwell has been tapped for a starring role in the eight episode miniseries, which hails from creator Paul Sorrentino and is being toplined by Jude Law. Cromwell will play Cardinal Michael Spencer, the new Pope's mentor.

Diane Keaton To Co-Star In Papal Miniseries ‘The Young Pope’

Diane Keaton (The Godfather) has signed on to co-star opposite Jude Law in the Young Pope, the eight episode miniseries from creator Paul Sorrentino which is a co-production between Sky, HBO and French broadcaster Canal+. Keaton will play Sister Mary, a nun from the U.S. now living in Vatican City.

HBO Renews ‘The Brink’ For Second Season

HBO is returning to The Brink. The premium cable network has renewed the Jack Black fronted dark comedy for a second season, TVWise has confirmed. 10 episodes has been ordered for season two, matching the size of the order for the first season.

HBO Renews ‘Ballers’ For Second Season

HBO has renewed their Dwayne Johnson comedy vehicle Ballers for a ten episode second season, only three episodes into the show's first season. The network has not yet decided on the fates of either True Detective or The Brink.
