John Ratzenberger, best known for his eleven season run as mail man Cliff Claven on the hit 1980s NBC sitcom Cheers, has been tapped for a co-starring role opposite Whitney Cummings in her HBO pilot A Lot. 
HBO is bringing back The Leftovers one last time. The premium cable network has renewed the critically acclaimed drama series from Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta for a third and final season, TVWise has learned. There's no official word on the size of the order for the final season, though it is expected to be for ten episodes. 
HBO has unveiled a new teaser trailer for the upcoming sixth season of Game Of Thrones, which is set to premiere in April on HBO in the U.S. and Sky Atlantic in the UK. EXCLUSIVE: HBO is set to re-team with the BBC for a new J.K. Rowling drama. Sources tell TVWise that the premium cable network is circling BBC One's The Cormoran Strike Mysteries, based on the Harry Potter author's Cormoran Strike novel series (published under the pen name Robert Galbraith), with plans to board as a co-producer. HBO has released the poster for the sixth season of ratings juggernaut Game Of Thrones, which is set to premiere on the premium cable network next April. 
HBO is staying in business with Nic Pizzolatto. The premium cable network has inked a new overall deal with the True Detective creator which will keep him based at HBO through to at least 2018. This marks the third such overall deal they have agreed with Pizzolatto, after signing similar such deals with the writer/producer in 2012 (to land True Detective in the first place) and then again in 2014, ahead of the season two renewal. HBO today released the first image for their upcoming comedy series Divorce, which hails from Dead Boss creator Sharon Horgan and is being fronted by former Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker. 
Sky is expanding their relationship with HBO. The satcaster has agreed a new pan-European output deal, which makes Sky Atlantic the exclusive home of HBO content in Germany, Austria and Italy through to 2020. Sky Atlantic in the UK & Ireland was already covered by the output deal extension agreed last year, which included a co-production element, and also runs until 2020.
