Fremantle Hires Raffaella De Angelis For Literary Acquisitions
Fremantle has hired Raffaella de Angelis to spearhead literary acquisitions for their Global Drama division, as well as Lorenzo Mieli’s The Apartment and Richard Brown’s Passenger, with whom Fremantle have an exclusive multi-year deal. 
BBC Four has inked deals with DCD Rights and Fremantle to acquire the UK rights to Australian drama series The Secrets She Keeps and French drama The Last Wave, respectively. Both series are expected to air in the channel's Saturday night foreign drama slot later this year.
Channel 5 and Australian broadcaster Network 10 - both of whom are now sister networks following the ViacomCBS merger - have teamed up for Breathless, a new four-part miniseries starring Charlie Brooks (EastEnders) and Brett Tucker (Station 19). Breathless tells the story of a British woman and her husband, who are seeking a fresh start in Australia after infidelity rocks their marriage. That’s the plan until they hire a young local nanny who isn’t as innocent as she appears and there are deadly consequences.
Neil Cross, creator of BBC One's hit series Luther, has inked an exclusive overall deal with FremantleMedia. Under the agreement, he will work with Euston Films' Kate Harwood and Fremantle Media's Dante Di Loreto to develop a range of high-end drama projects. Projected created and produced through the deal will be distributed globally by FremantleMedia International.
Suspects is the latest UK originated drama format to travel. German broadcaster RTL has commissioned a local adaptation of the format, which was originally devised by FremantleMedia UK’s Newman Street Managing Director Paul Marquess for Channel 5, TVWise has learned.
FremantleMedia has taken a 25% stake in Corona Television, the nascent television production company which was recently set up by filmmakers Richard Johns and Rupert Jermyn.
