BBC Acquires ‘The Investigation’ In Deal With Fremantle
The BBC has acquired six episode Scandinavian true crime drama The Investigation after striking a deal with international distributor Fremantle. No word on which channel the series will air on or when it will premiere. 
Amazon is sticking with American Gods. Amazon Prime Video UK has picked up the exclusive UK rights to the recently ordered third season of the Starz original drama. The show's second season started airing on the streaming service last week. The pick up is part of a wider agreement inked by Amazon which will see them continue as the international broadcaster for American Gods in more than than 200 countries and territories worldwide. FremantleMedia International is the distributor. 
This is an interesting one. The BBC, UKTV and FremantleMedia International have teamed together to commission a ten episode adventure series fronted by Steve Backshall. Under the "groundbreaking" new commissioning model, BBC Two will air the first four hour-long episodes in 2019. Later that same year, UKTV's Dave channel will are six exclusive episodes, followed by it's own versions of the BBC episodes. FremantleMedia International will handle global sales.
