UKTV is losing one of its scripted co-productions. Canadian public broadcaster CBC has announced that they will not be picking up Frankie Drake Mysteries for a fifth season. The show's fourth and now final season is currently airing on CBC in Canada and on UKTVs Alibi channel here in the UK. 
Frankie Drake will continue to solve crimes in 1920s Toronto. UKTV co-production Frankie Drake Mysteries has been picked up a fourth season by Canadian public broadcaster CBC. The renewal comes mere weeks after fellow UKTV co-production Murdoch Mysteries was renewed for a fourteenth season. The third season of Frankie Drake Mysteries will receive its UK premiere on UKTV's Alibi channel on Tuesday January 21st at 9pm, it has been announced. Frankie Drake is making a stop in the UK. UKTV and CBC's co-production Frankie Drake Mysteries recently kicked off production on its ten episode third season with a shoot in London. Production will continue on location in Ontario through to the autumn. 
Here's some cross-company synergy for UKTV. Alan Davies, who fronts As Yet Untitled on Dave, has landed a guest starring role on the second season of their co-production Frankie Drake Mysteries. The 1920s period drama launched on Alibi earlier this year and quickly proved to be a hit; improving the channel's slot-average by 210%. As a result of the strong ratings in both the UK and Canada, UKTV and CBC picked up a ten episode second season, which has now started filming.
