Fox Cuts ‘Minority Report’ Order To 10 Episodes
While Blindspot was the first series to swing a back nine order, Minority Report is the first series to have its order cut in lieu of a cancellation. Fox has trimmed the order for the feature film sequel by some three episodes, cutting the size of the first season (and likely series as a whole) to some 10 episodes. Fox is saying that, even with the poor ratings, all ten episodes of the series will air and it is still in contention for a renewal, but I'm told such an outcome is extremely unlikely.
Fox has ordered three additional scripts for Wednesday night procedural Rosewood, which has turned out to be a surprise hit for the network. Despite receiving only a fraction of the marketing budget and ad buy that went to "more marketable" shows like the certain-to-be-cancelled Minority Report, Rosewood has been pulling in strong ratings in its time-slot, thanks in large part to ins lead-in, ratings juggernaut Empire.
Bob's Burgers is staying put on Fox's Sunday night line-up. The network has renewed the animated comedy from Loren Bouchard, 20th Century Fox Television and Bento Box Entertainment for a further two seasons, the show's seventh and eighth, TVWise has learned.
Fox has put into development an untitled event series starring Sanna Lathan (Boss) which will be topical in its focus and depict the dangerous aftermath of a police shooting when an African-American cop kills a white teen in Tennessee.
Fox has handed out a hefty put pilot commitment to Lethal Weapon, a TV reboot of the feature film series of the same name which starred Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, TVWise has learned.

Fox is extending the run of midseason comedy Cooper Barrett's Guide To Surviving Life. More than three months before the series is set to premiere, the network has handed out an order for seven additional episodes, TVWise has confirmed. With the increase, Fox has now ordered a total of 13 episodes for the show's first season.
