Fox Picks Up ‘The Grinder’, ‘Rosewood’, ‘Grandfathered’ & ‘The Guide To Surviving Life’ To Series
With only days before their Upfront presentation, Fox has handed out their first series orders. The network has picked up comedy pilot The Grinder, starring Rob Lowe; and procedural drama Rosewood to series. Perhaps unsurprisingly as these were the first orders for the network, both hail from sister studio 20th Century Fox Television.
The Mindy Project's time on Fox has come to an end. The network has cancelled the Universal Television produced comedy created by and starring The Office's Mindy Kaling after three seasons. That being said, Fox decision to cancel the comedy may not spell the end for The Mindy Project. Hulu is understood to be in talks with Universal Television to pick up The Mindy Project for a further two seasons, bringing it past the 100 episodes needed for syndication.
Fox's Sleepy Hollow is set lose one of its main cast members. Orlando Jones (House), who has played Captain Frank Irving on Sleepy Hollow since the pilot, is exiting the 20th Century Fox Television produced drama ahead of it's just ordered third season, TVWise has confirmed.
The Simpsons are not going anywhere. Fox has renewed the long-running animated comedy for a further two seasons, the show's twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth. The two-season pick up, which will keep The Simpsons on air through at least the 2016-2017 season, ensures that some 625 episodes will have been produced by the end of season 28.
Fox has handed out a six episode straight-to-series order to Golan The Insatiable, a half-hour animated comedy inspired by the 15 minute comedy series of the same name which originally aired back in 2013 as part of the network's late night Animation Domination High-Def block.
