FOX Picks Up UK Rights To AMC’s ‘The Talking Dead’

FOX UK is bringing The Talking Dead to the UK. After trialling the series by airing a one-off special earlier this year, the Fox International Channels owned and operated channel has acquired the exclusive UK broadcast right to The Talking Dead in a deal with international distributor Entertainment One (eOne). As it does in the U.S., The Talking Dead will air behind new episodes of The Walking Dead this Autumn.

Fox's (short-lived) Rainn Wilson fronted drama series Backstrom will receive its UK premiere on FOX UK on Wednesday September 2nd at 9pm, it has been announced.

FOX UK is turning to Adult Swim for their renewed push into scripted comedy. The FIC owned and operated channel has inked a deal with Turner Broadcasting System for the exclusive UK broadcast rights to a wide range of Adult Swim content, including Dan Harmon's Rick & Morty and Mr Pickles. The series acquired under this deal will air on Thursday nights from 11pm in a branded Adult Swim block.

FOX UK To Fast Track ‘American Dad’, Will Air Season 12 Close Behind U.S. Debut

FOX UK is to fast-track the Seth MacFarlane comedy American Dad for UK audiences, TVWise can reveal. Traditionally, new seasons have aired on FOX UK in Q1, approximately a year behind the U.S. broadcasts. But for the first time, the channel is planning to air the new season close behind US broadcaster TBS, in order to capitalise on the fact that they hold first window rights.

FOX UK Pushes Back ‘The Fixer’ To September

FOX UK is making a change to their schedule. Miniseries The Fixer, starring Eric Dane (The Last Ship) and Kathleen Robertson (Murder In The First), is being pushed back. Instead of premiering on August 21st as previously announced, the four-hour mini will now premiere on Friday September 4th at 10pm.

FOX UK has closed a deal with sister company Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution to acquire the excusive first run UK broadcast rights to Fox's short-lived drama series Backstrom, TVWise has learned. The show will kick of its 13 episode run on FOX UK this September.
