Sky Vision Locks Down New U.S. Partner For ‘Fortitude’

Sky Vision has locked down a new U.S. partner for Fortitude. Sky's international sales division has sold the arctic crime drama to Amazon Prime Video in the United States. The first season of the show has been available on the streaming service since last January and the second season - now marketed as an Amazon Original Series - will premiere later this year.

EXCLUSIVE: Participant Media announced yesterday that owing to the tough landscape for standalone cable networks, Pivot - a brand aimed at millennials - would be closing its doors. The network was best known for serving as the U.S. co-producer for Sky Atlantic's Fortitude since 2013, after the initial U.S. co-producer, premium cable network Starz, backed out. That had left some to question what, if any, affect Pivot's closure would have on the Arctic-set drama, but TVWise can now reveal that it will not impact the series.

FortitudeSky Atlantic has renewed their ambitious original drama series Fortitude for a second season. The pick up, which is for a further 10 episodes, comes just ahead of the season one finale. Participant Media's Pivot network in the United States will again co-produce.
