Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa has found the new lead for Deep State. Former The Shield and Justified star Walton Goggins has signed on for a starring role in the second season of the spy drama. In addition to starring, he will also serve as an executive producer. Goggins will play Nathan Miller, a former CIA operative who now works in the private sector as a “Michael Clayton like” fixer for the deep state. He succeeds Mark Strong, who played Max Easton, and exited the show at the end of season one.
Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa has renewed their first regional scripted commission, espionage thriller Deep State, for a second season. The early renewal comes mere hours before the show's first season is set to launch on FOX UK and after FNG has secured a slew of international sales for the show. They will also be showcasing Deep State to international buyers at MIPTV next week.
There are big changes afoot at Fox Networks Group UK. Long-time Head of Programming and Scheduling Toby Etheridge, who has been in post since 2010, is exiting the company. He will be replaced Shoshana Wilson, who is currently serving as Director of Global Acquisitions in the regional European Team. Additionally, Jeff Ford, who joined FOX UK as Managing Director in 2015, has announced plans to retire after a career in the industry that has spanned four decades.
Fox Networks Group (FNG) has promoted Prentiss Fraser to the position of Managing Director of Content Distribution. In the new role, Fraser will oversee the FNG Content Distribution Division which has in-territory sales teams and centrally based sales servicing departments in over 16 offices around the world.
