Father Brown is back in production. The BBC daytime series has returned to filming for its ninth season after production was put on hold last year due to the COVID pandemic. Despite the interruption to the shooting schedule, the ninth season will still consist of ten episodes, including the series' 100th episode.
BBC One has released four first-look images of Hugo Speer from the eighth season of Father Brown, which is presently airing on weekdays at 2:15pm.

After a five year break, Hugo Speer (The Musketeers) is returning to Father Brown. The actor, most recently seen on BBC One in U.S. acquisition London Kills, is set to reprise his role as Chief Inspector Valentine in the show's just announced eighth season. He last appeared in Father Brown's season two premiere back in 2014. Fan favourites Alex Price (Penny Dreadful) and Nancy Carroll (Prime Suspect 1973) are also returning for season eight and will be reprising their roles as Sid Carter and Lady Felicia, respectively.
