UKTV’s Dave Channel Cancels ‘Zapped’ After Three Seasons

Romesh Ranganathan is returning to Dave. The UKTV owned and operated channel has renewed their Ranganathan fronted series Judge Romesh for a second season. Twelve episodes have been ordered for season two, up from the ten episode order for season one.
Back2Back is continuing to staff up. The Brighton based indie has hired Scott McDonald to serve as a Senior Development Producer. He joins the development team, led by Holly Bigsby, where he will focus on bolstering the Back2Back's growing slate of returning brands and franchises. In addition to this executive hire, Back2Back has also secured a greenlight from UKTV’s Dave channel for Mega Air, a sister series to returning franchise Mega Shippers.
UKTV's originals push is paying off. Last year, original commissions were amongst the top-rated programmes on six of the channels (Dave, W, Gold, Drama, Yesterday and Really) across the network and also drove growth for VOD service UKTV Play.
Dave has renewed their original series Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier for a second season. The UKTV owned and operated channel has ordered an expanded second season of ten episodes, up from the eight episodes that comprised season one.
Taskmaster is once again breaking ratings records with its recently launched seventh season. The series, fronted by Greg Davies and Alex Horne, has been reaching 1.44 milion viewers this season, up 7% from season six. The figures also make season seven the most successful to date. ABC1 viewers are up 13%, and 16-34s are up 11% on season six.
