UKTV’s Dave Channel Renews ‘Sliced’ For Second Season
Dave has renewed Samson Kayo and Phil Bowker's comedy series Sliced for a second season. The UKTV owned and operated channel has handed the series an expanded order of six episodes for season two - up from the three episodes that comprised season one. 
Red Dwarf is returning to Dave. The UKTV channel has commissioned a feature-length special of the hit sci-fi comedy series to air in 2020. The special, which is set up at Baby Cow Productions, is being penned and directed by series co-creator Doug Naylor. Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn are all on-board to reprise their roles as Lister, Rimmer, The Cat and Kryten. Richard Naylor is the producer. It will be filmed on location and at Pinewood in front of a live studio audience. Christine Langan is the executive producer.
UKTV is turning to Eddie “The Beast” Hall for their next original. Dave has ordered Eddie Eats America, a food series fronted by the former World’s Strongest Man. Twelve episodes have been ordered for the show's first season.
UKTV's Dave channel has handed out a second season renewal to Hypothetical. The comedy series fronted by Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster will return with a further eight episodes in 2020. The formal green-light for season two comes after the show's first season, which aired on Dave earlier this year, reached a total audience of 4.5 million viewers. It was also one of UKTV Play’s most popular shows of 2019.
UKTV Creative - the broadcaster's award-winning in-house creative team - has unveiled a new advert for Dave that will begin airing on the channel as of today (Tuesday June 11th). The ad in question was filmed over a six month period and features talent behind the channel's original series offering a behind-the-scene glimpse of programme making and reinforcing the message that Dave is now home to more original British comedy than ever before.
UKTV is expanding their slate of originals. The commercial broadcaster has commissioned a new scripted comedy starring Jon Richardson for Dave, Death On The Tyne sequel Dial M For Middlesbrough for Gold, and a new eight episode Dave Gorman series for Dave.
