Channel 5 Orders ‘In Solitary’ Celebrity Series
Following on from the success of In Solitary, Channel 5 has given the green-light to a celebrity edition of the series which followed four members of the public as they attempted to live in solitary confinement. Celebs In Solitary will largely retain the same format, with the members of the public being replaced by four famous faces. They will sacrifice their phones and contact with the outside world and only be allowed three ‘luxury’ items to help them pass the time and psychological tests of isolation. 
Channel 5 is increasing the range of content they offer on My5. The broadcaster has struck content partnership deals with PBS America, Together, Little Dot Studios and BET for the VOD service. Additionally, they have extended their existing agreement with A+E Networks UK.
Channel 5 has renewed their Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Lnagsford fronted super-rich series How The Other Half Lives for a five episode fifth season and two-part Las Vegas Christmas special. Additionally, the broadcaster has given the green-light to How To Get A Good Sleep, a new two episode series fronted by the TV couple. Both series hails from Spun Gold Television. Joining Spun Gold on How To Get A Good Sleep is Motion Content Group. 
Lifetime's TV movie Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance will premiere on Channel 5 on Saturday May 19th at 3pm, it has been announced. It will be repeated later the same day at 9pm.
Channel 5 has given the greenlight to Shop Smart Save Money, a three-part shopping series from independent production company True North which will be presented by Gaby Roslin and Fiona Phillips. Shop Smart Save Money will bring the viewers trolley-loads of cash-saving tips and tricks – helping them make sense of all the confusing deals and offers out there. Every week the show challenges two competing Savvy Shoppers to save some serious cash on a family’s weekly shop. And it lifts the lid on big-name brands as it uncovers the best – and worst – value products on the market.
Channel 5 has agreed a deal with Entertainment One (eOne) to secure UK rights to Canadian procedural The Detail and second window rights to ABC's Designated Survivor. This marks the second UK deal for Designated Survivor. Netflix UK
