CBS All Access Pushes ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Premiere At Bryan Fuller’s Request

At the request of Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, CBS's streaming service CBS All Access has pushed the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery from January to May 2017. In keeping with the previous roll-out plans, the series premiere will now air on the CBS network during the May sweeps, before it shifts to CBS All Access for the remainder of its 13 episode first season.

CBS Sets Official Title For ‘Star Trek’ Series, Releases First Look At New Ship

CBS has set an official title for their upcoming Star Trek TV series. The new 13 episode series, from showrunner Bryan Fuller and CBS Television Studios, will be titled Star Trek: Discovery, it was announced yesterday at San Diego Comic Con during the Star Trek 50th Anniversary Panel. Beyond revealing the title, CBS has also released a first look image of the new ship, as well as a short teaser trailer showing the 'test flight' of the USS Discovery.

At their upfront presentation in New York City on Wednesday, CBS revealed the logo and a short teaser trailer for their new Star Trek TV series, which will premiere on the traditional network in January before seguing to CBS All Access for the remainder of its run.
