CBBC, BBC Wales Order ‘The Snow Spider’ Adaptation From Leopard Pictures
The Snow Spider is coming to television. CBBC and BBC Wales have co-commissioned a five part adaptation of Jenny Nimmo’s trilogy of novels from indie Leopard Pictures. The series will air on both CBBC and BBC Wales in 2020. The Snow Spider nine year old Gwyn Griffiths on a mystical journey of discovery. The series opens with Gwyn Griffiths gloomily awaiting the day of his ninth birthday, an occasion marred once again by the reminder of his missing sister Bethan, who disappeared four years earlier. Little does he know his life is about to be changed forever. 

CBBC has renewed the latest series featuring Dennis The Menace, Dennis & Gnasher: Unleased, for a second season. Fifty-two episode have been ordered for the show's second season. “Dennis and Gnasher continue to be two of our best loved characters and their ardent fans will be delighted to see this rambunctious series return to CBBC”, said Cheryl Taylor, Head of Content for BBC Children’s.
Hey Duggee is heading to the cinema. BBC Studios and Studio AKA have teamed up with Vue to bring the CBBC kids series to cinemas across the UK later this month.
CBBC had handed out an early renewal to Hank Zipzer, picking up a thirteen episode third season of the kids series created by and starring Henry Winkler more than a month before the show's second season is set to debut.
Kids classic Morph is returning to the BBC. Some 15 years after the series last aired on the beeb, the BBC owned kids channel CBBC has picked up the TV rights to the latest run of episodes. The new run of episodes, consisting of 15 one-minute shorts, are set to debut on CBBC this June.
