BBC One Renews ‘Call The Midwife’ For Three More Seasons

Call The Midwife S4BBC One's hit period drama Call The Midwife has earned a bumper renewal, scoring a three-season pick up that will see it remain on air until at least its ninth season in 2020. Alongside these three new seasons, all of which will run eight episodes, a further three Christmas Specials have also been ordered.

Call The Midwife Christmas Special 2015BBC One has handed out an early sixth season renewal to hit period drama Call The Midwife, TVWise has learned. The renewal, which comes more than a months before the fifth season is set to premiere, is for a Christmas Special in 2016 and 8 episodes, which will air in early 2017.
