Netflix UK Sets Premiere Date For ‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie’

The Breaking Bad follow-up movie El Camino will premiere on Netflix UK on Friday October 11th, it has been announced. El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie picks up in the wake of the events depicted in the Breaking Bad series finale. Following his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future. The movie was penned and directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and produced by Sony Pictures Television. The producers are Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Charles Newirth, Diane Mercer and Aaron Paul. No word on whether or not Bryan Cranston will appear in the movie.

AMC Acquires UK Rights To ‘Manhattan’ & ‘Weeds’

Ahead of the channel's launch later this week, AMC UK is adding two exclusive acquisitions to their drama slate. AMC UK has acquired the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the first two seasons of WGN America atomic bomb period drama Manhattan, and all eight seasons of Showtime's dark-comedy series Weeds - the final two seasons of which have never aired on UK television following Sky Atlantic's decision to drop the series in 2013. Both Manhattan and Weeds were acquired in a deal with Lionsgate Television.

Spike UK Sets Premiere Date For ‘Breaking Bad’

A local version of the US network, Spike UK will launch on range of platforms including Freeview (channel 31), Sky (EPG slot 160) and Freesat (channel 141). In making the announcement, Viacom International Media Networks also revealed the content line-up for the channel's launch, which will include a combination of US acquisition's and local commissions.
