CBS Cancels Summer Series ‘American Gothic’ & ‘BrainDead’
Its' the end of the road for two of CBS' summer dramas. The network has pulled the plug on American Gothic and BrainDead after both aired only one thirteen episode season, TVWise has confirmed. The third of CBS' summer scripted dramas, Zoo, has previously been renewed for 2017. 
Danny Pino is heading to Washington, D.C. The former Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star, who exited the NBC procedural at the end of last season, has signed on for a series regular role on BrainDead, CBS's newest Summer series which hails from CBS Television Studios and The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King.
Fresh off of the cancellation of his USA Network series Graceland, Aaron Tveit has signed on for a co-starring role opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Returned) in CBS' new summer series BrainDead, which hails from CBS Television Studios and The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King.
CBS is re-teaming with The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King for a new drama series. The network has handed out a 13 episode straight-to-series order to BrainDead, a "comic-thriller" from the duo which is being described as The West Wing meets The Strain.
