BBC Two has handed out a second season renewal to legal comedy Defending The Guilty. Six episodes have been ordered for the show's second season. The renewal comes shortly after season one wrapped its run on BBC Two. The series premiere has has consolidated across 28 days to amass an audience of 1.5 million viewers and a 9.2 percent audience share. That represents an increase of 31 percent on BBC Two's Tuesday night slot average.

Cold Feet is coming back for another run. ITV has renewed the comedy drama for a ninth season. Six episodes have been ordered for season nine, which is expected to start filming in Manchester later this year ahead of a 2020 premiere.

Channel 4 has handed out a sixth season renewal to their comedy series Friday Night Dinner. Production on the show's sixth season is set to get underway later this year for a 2020 premiere. With the renewal the series becomes one of Channel 4’s longest running sitcoms. The pick-up comes a little more than a year after the show's fifth season aired. Season five ranks as the show's second highest rated season with an average audience of 1.9 million views and an 11.4% share in its 10pm slot.

BBC One has ordered The Goes Wrong Show, a six episode TV adaptation of Mischief Theatre's The Play That Goes Wrong. The series order comes after the BBC previously commissioned and aired TV adaptations of Mischief's Peter Pan Goes Wrongand A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong.

ITV's Cold Feet is adding to its cast. Siobhan Finneran (Happy Valley, Downton Abbey) has boarded the seventh season of the series, which is set to premiere next month. She will play Nikki Kirkbright, a Cheshire housewife that seems to have it all - money, big house and big hair. But something isn't quite right. David meets Nikki through his career in personal finance and the two soon develop a close bond.

After successfully reviving the series for a sixth season some thirteen years after it initially concluded its run, ITV has renewed Cold Feet for a seventh season, TVWise has learned. Eight episodes have been ordered for season seven, matching the size of the order for the sixth season revival. Original series creator Mike Bullen will once again be returning to pen the scripts for the new season, which is set to enter production in Manchester next March.
