BBC Two Acquires FX’s Cocaine Drama ‘Snowfall’, Orders ‘League Of Gentleman’ Specials & More

At his Meet The Controller session at the Edinburgh International TV Festival, BBC Two Controller Patrick Holland unveiled a raft of new programming for the channel. BBC Two has acquired FX's LA set cocaine drama Snowfall from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution and ordered a trio of specials of their cult comedy series The League Of Gentleman. In addition, the channel has commissioned a number of factual titles including Inside The Foreign Office and Army: Behind The New Frontlines.

BBC Two Acquires UK Rights To ‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story’

After a couple of months of ambiguity, BBC Two has now closed a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution to acquire the first window UK rights to The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. BBC Two will air the second season of American Crime Story in 2018, shortly after it launches on FX in the United States.

STV Productions Scores Multi-Season ‘Antiques Road Trip’ Renewal From BBC

STV Productions has scored a multi-season renewal from the BBC for both Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. BBC One's Antiques Road Trip will return for fourth further seasons, for a total of 80 episodes; while BBC Two's Celebrity Antiques Road Trip will be back for another season of 20 episodes.

BBC Two To Broadcast ‘Hamlet’ West End Production Starring Andrew Scott

The BBC is bringing some more critically acclaimed theatre to the small screen. BBC Two has announced plans to broadcast the West End production of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, directed by Robert Icke and starring Andrew Scott (Sherlock), which recently transferred to the Harold Pinter Theatre for a limited season following a sell-out run at the Almeida this year.
