BBC Two has ordered Alma’s Not Normal - a half-hour comedy pilot written by and starring Sophie Willan, who won the BBC’s inaugural Caroline Aherne Bursary Award in 2018. Alma's Not Normal follows Boltonian wild-child, Alma Nuthall and her family of eccentric, unruly women. With no qualifications and a rebellious streak a mile wide, Alma decides to become an escort to support her dreams of becoming a star and leaving Bolton.
BBC Two has handed out a six episode series order to an as-yet untitled comedy series from Sara Pascoe (Sara Pascoe Live: LadsLadsLads, Travelling Blind, W1A). Per the BBC, the series will subvert the tradition sitcom format and blend eccentric characters, surreal moments and factual insight.
There She Goes is coming back. The BBC has renewed the comedy drama for a five episode second season. As part of said renewal, the series is also moving from BBC Four to BBC Two.
