ITV Orders Landmark Prince Charles Documentary Series ‘Inside The Duchy’ From BBC Studios
ITV has ordered Inside The Duchy, a two-part documentary series about Prince Charles, that will feature exclusive interviews with HRH The Prince of Wales, to mark his 50th working year as The Duke of Cornwall. Inside The Duchy will offer an unprecedented insight into The Duchy of Cornwall, which covers more than 130,000 acres across 23 counties, touching coast, countryside and city. The series follows His Royal Highness, who, in his role as a landlord, farmer, and custodian of the Estate, is very much the hands-on inspiration behind ‘The Duchy Family’. Alibi has ordered their second original drama. Mere months after moving into scripted originals with Traces, the UKTV owned and operated channel has given the green-light to We Hunt Together, a six episode cat and mouse thriller from Cheat scribe Gaby Hull and BBC Studios. We Hunt Together begins with the collision of two extraordinary people; Babeni (AKA Baba), a former child soldier desperate to suppress his predisposition for violence, and Freddy, a magnetic and disarmingly charming free spirit. UKTV Split Up Confirmed, Marcus Arthur Replaces Darren Childs As CEO
As has been rumoured for months, UKTV as it presently exists is being split up. Owners Discovery and BBC Studios have reached a deal that will see Discovery take control of Good Food, Home and Really, while BBC Studios assumes full ownership of Alibi, Dave, Drama, Eden, Gold, Yesterday and W. Michael Jackson: The Rise And Fall take us from his Jackson's years with The Jackson 5 in Gary, Indiana, to his time in New York - and the notorious nightclub Studio 54 - to his relationship with the media, retreat into fantasy and creation of Neverland, to the preparations for his This Is It concerts shortly before his death.
