Yasmin Kaur Barn Joins BBC One’s ‘Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators’ As Series Regular
Newcomer Yasmin Kaur Barn has joined the cast of BBC One's daytime drama series Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators as a series regular for its just ordered third season. She will play PC Viola Deacon, a 20-something friend of Sebastian with boundless, puppy-like enthusiasm. Back in 2016, Yasmin Kaur Barn was cast as one of the leads in Fox's pilot Recon, which ultimately did no go to series. She has also appeared in an episode of BBC Three's Man Like Mobeen. Hugo Speer Returning For ‘Father Brown’ Season 8; Alex Price & Nancy Carroll Also Set To Reprise Roles
After a five year break, Hugo Speer (The Musketeers) is returning to Father Brown. The actor, most recently seen on BBC One in U.S. acquisition London Kills, is set to reprise his role as Chief Inspector Valentine in the show's just announced eighth season. He last appeared in Father Brown's season two premiere back in 2014. Fan favourites Alex Price (Penny Dreadful) and Nancy Carroll (Prime Suspect 1973) are also returning for season eight and will be reprising their roles as Sid Carter and Lady Felicia, respectively. BBC Studios has found their new Head of Comedy. They have hired former Sky Commissioning Editor Josh Coles to lead their comedy team. He replaces Chris Sussman who announced his exit earlier this year. As Head of Comedy, Coles will oversee BBC Studios current slate of comedy series across TV, radio and online. He will also have responsibility for the development of new, returnable comedy series.
