This is something of a casting coup. Richard Gere (Chicago, Pretty Woman), Helen McCrory (Peaky Blinders, Harry Potter) and Billy Howle (Witness for the Prosecution, On Chesil Beach) have been set as the leads in MotherFatherSon, BBC Two eight episode drama series from American Crime Story and London Spy scribe Tom Rob Smith.

Newcomer Chance Perdomo and Craig Parkinson (Line Of Duty) have been set to star in BBC Three's one-off factual drama Killed By My Debt. Chance Perdomo takes on the key role of Jerome Rogers, while Craig Parkinson plays The Bailiff. Killed By Me Debt tells the true story of Jerome Rogers, a 19-year-old motorbike courier from Croydon, who sees two unpaid £65 traffic fines escalating to more than a thousand pounds. Unravelling under the pressure of his mounting debt and with his only source of income - his bike - clamped, Jerome took his own life.

‘Still Open All Hours’ Renewed For Fifth Season At BBC One

BBC One has handed out a fifth season renewal to the Sir David Jason fronted comedy series Still Open All Hours. Seven episodes have been ordered for season five, with the first such episode serving as a Christmas special.

‘Victoria’ Star Leo Suter Joins BBC Three’s ‘Clique’

Leo Suter, who recurred as Drummond on ITV's Victoria, has joined the cast for the second season of BBC Three's drama series Clique. Details of his character are being kept under wraps. Suter joins a returning cast that includes Synnove Karlsen as Holly, Sophia Brown as Louise and Rachel Hurd-Wood as Rachel. Other cast additions for season two include Barney Harris (The Hollow Crown), Imogen King (Darkest Hour), Stuart Campbell (Outlander), Izuka Hoyle (Mary, Queen of Scots) and newcomers and recent graduates Jyuddah Jaymes and Nicholas Nunn.

To mark the fortieth anniversary of the first female British Prime Minister next year, BBC Two has given the green-light to a five episode documentary series about the iron lady herself, Margaret Thatcher.

BBC Two has handed out a fifth season renewal to anthology series Inside No. 9. The renewal comes ahead of today's fourth season finale and after the current season kicked off to record ratings with a consolidated audience of 1.8 million viewers.
