BBC Loses ‘The Great British Bake Off’ As Negotiations Break Down
The BBC has lost the rights to The Great British Bake Off after lengthy negotiations with indie Love Productions broke down, TVWise has confirmed. While there has been talk all year of a bidding war to poach the show from the BBC, sources insist that there is no impending deal, as there have been no formal talks with any broadcasters other than the Beeb. 

David Suchet (Agatha Christie's Poirot) has signed on as the narrator for BBC One's Peter Pan Goes Wrong, a special adaptation of the theatre production from Mischief Theatre which is set to air this Christmas. Suchet, who is coming off of a starring role in BBC Two's Decline And Fall, will appear on-screen as the narrator who finds himself caught up in the mayhem.
BBC One has ordered a one-off half-hour animated adaptation of kids book The Highway Rat from independent production company Magic Light Pictures, TVWise has learned. The adaptation is set to be a key part of BBC One's 2017 Christmas schedule.

After a lengthy casting process, Tom Burke (The Musketeers, War & Peace) has been cast as the titular character in BBC One's The Cormoran Strike Mysteries, an adaptation of the Strike novels by JK Rowling (published under the pen name Robert Galbraith).
After months of rumours, BBC One has officially pulled the trigger and renewed their hit comedy series Not Going Out for an eighth season. With the renewal, the series continues to be the BBC's longest running sitcom currently on-air.
