BBC One Renews ‘McMafia’ For Second Season
The BBC is returning to McMafia. BBC One has renewed the James Norton fronted drama a second season. No word on the size of the order for season two, which is expected to air in 2019. AMC co-produced the series for the U.S. market. 
BBC One and HBO has set the cast for their co-production Gentleman Jack, which is being toplined by Suranne Jones. Joining the cast of the eight episode drama series is Sophie Rundle (Bodyguard), Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones), Timothy West (Bleak House), Gemma Jones (Bridget Jones’s Diary), Stephanie Cole (Still Open All Hours), Peter Davison (Doctor Who), Amelia Bullmore (Scott & Bailey), Vincent Franklin (Happy Valley) and Shaun Dooley (Broadchurch).
BBC One and Red Planet Pictures are shaking up the cast of Death In Paradise. Original cast member Danny John-Jules, who plays Officer Dwayne Myers, is exiting the Caribbean-set murder mystery drama after seven seasons. Additionally, Shyko Amos (A Very English Scandal) is joining the cast as a series regular for season eight.
BBC Three has renewed mockumentary This Country for a third season. Additionally, they have also commissioned a one-off forty-minute special. The renewal comes on the back of impressive ratings performance for the show, which wrapped its second season last month. On BBC Three (via iPlayer) the show has had more than 11 million requests, while repeat broadcasts on BBC One have attracted audiences of well over a million viewer - winning its slot every week.
BBC One has set the cast for Mrs Wilson. Iain Glen (Game Of Thrones, Delicious), Keeley Hawes (The Durrells, Ashes To Ashes), Anupam Kher (Silver Linings Playbook, The Boy with The Topknot) and Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter, True Blood) have been tapped to star opposite Ruth Wilson (Luther, The Affair) in the three-part period drama.
BBC One has released the trailer for their new Abi Morgan drama series The Split, which is set to premiere on Tuesday April 24th at 9pm.
