BBC One Orders New ‘Worzel Gummidge’ Adaptation, Mackenzie Crook To Star

The BBC is bringing back Worzel Gummidge. BBC One has ordered a new adaptation of the classic books by Barbara Euphan, with Pirates Of The Caribbean's Mackenzie Crook attached to star in the titular role. This new adaptation has received an order for two episodes.

BBC One & BBC Three Set UK Premiere Date For ‘Killing Eve’ Season 2

The second season of Killing Eve will receive its UK premiere on BBC One on Saturday June 8th at 9:15pm, it has been announced. Following the broadcast of the season premiere on BBC One, all eight season two episodes will be made available to stream on BBC Three (via BBC iPlayer). The series will also continue to air in its Saturday slot on BBC One.

BBC One Renews ‘Ghosts’ For Second Season

BBC One has handed out a second season renewal to Ghosts, their new comedy series from the Horrible Histories team of Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. Ghosts is the highest rated comedy so far this year with a consolidated average audience of 3.7 million viewers.

BBC One Orders’ ‘Gavin & Stacey’ Christmas Special

Gavin & Stacey is making a comeback. BBC One has ordered a one-off Christmas special of the hit comedy series from Ruth Jones and James Corden. It will be a key part of BBC One's 2019 Christmas schedule.

Julie Hesmondhalgh, Sarah Gordy & David Gyasi Join BBC One’s ‘The A Word’ For Season 3

Julie Hesmondhalgh (Broadchurch, Coronation Street), Sarah Gordy (Call The Midwife, Holby City) and David Gyasi (Troy: Fall of a City, Man in an Orange Shirt) have joined the cast of BBC One's drama series The A Word for its upcoming third season. They join returning cast members Max Vento, Morven Christie, Lee Ingleby, Molly Wright, Pooky Quesnel, Leon Harrop and Christopher Eccleston. Filming on season three is now underway in the Lake District and Manchester 

BBC One Renews ‘Gentleman Jack’ For Second Season

BBC One has handed out an early second season renewal to their Suranne Jones fronted drama Gentleman Jack. The renewal comes after only a single episode of the series has aired in its Sunday night slot. Premium cable network HBO, who co-produce for the US market, are on-board for season two. Eight episodes have been ordered for the show's second season.

Filming Gets Underway On ‘Call The Midwife’ Season 9

Filming has now started on the ninth season of BBC One's hit period drama Call The Midwife. This comes after production recently wrapped on this year's Christmas special.
