BBC One Orders Jo Bloom Adaptation ‘Ridley Road’
BBC One has ordered Ridley Road, a four-part adaptation of Jo Bloom's novel of the same name. Sarah Solemani (Barry, Aphrodite Fry) is penning the adaptation and has conducted extensive research for the project. 
The BBC is staying in business with former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat. BBC One has commissioned a four-part mini-series from Moffat, which he wrote on spec. Inside Man tells the story of a prisoner on death row in the US and a woman trapped in a cellar under an English vicarage, cross paths in the most unexpected way.
BBC One has ordered Roadkill, a four-part political thriller from The Worricker Trilogy scribe David Hare and independent production company The Forge. Hugh Laurie (House, Chance) is attached to star in the lead role as Conservative minister Peter Laurence. 
BBC One has ordered Mimi And The Mountain Dragon, a twenty-five minute 2D animated adaptation of Sir Michael Morpurgo’s children’s book. The one-off will air this Christmas and was commissioned as part of BBC One's season on literature.
London Kills is returning to the Beeb. BBC One has picked up the UK rights to the show's five-episode second season after striking a deal with international distributor Acorn Media International. The BBC said that the show's second season would air in a daytime slot in early 2020.
