Amazon Prime Instant Video Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Extant’ Season 2, Sets July Premiere

Amazon Prime Instant Video UK has picked up the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the second season of CBS' Halle Berry fronted sci-fi series Extant after striking a deal with CBS Studios International. The show's second season will premiere on the streaming service on July 2nd, mere hours after its debut state-side. New episodes will then continue to be made available every Thursday.

The UK arm of Amazon's streaming service has announced that they have picked up the exclusive rights to the second seasons of Halt & Catch Fire, Turn: Washington's Spies and The Red Road after agreeing a deal with international distributor Entertainment One (eOne).

Several weeks after word of the deal first leaked out, Amazon Prime Instant Video - who have now been operating in the UK for exactly one year - has confirmed that they have picked up the exclusive UK broadcast rights to multiple seasons of Outlander after striking a deal with Sony Pictures Television. The series is set to premiere on the streaming service on March 26th, when the first 8 episodes will be made available to Prime members.
