Christopher Walken Joins BBC One’s ‘The Offenders’
In what marks his first leading role on British television, Christopher Walken has signed on to star alongside Stephen Merchant in the BBC One comedy drama The Offenders. The series, which hails from Merchant and Mayans M.C. creator Elgin James, is now filming in Bristol.
Months after word of the project first leaked, BBC One has confirmed that they have ordered The Pursuit Of Love - a three-part adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s novel of the same name. Lily James and Emily Beecham are attached to star.
BBC One has handed out a six episode series order to The Offenders, a comedy drama series from Stephen Merchant (The Office) and Mayans M.C. creator Elgin James. While originally commissioned by the BBC, Amazon Studios has since boarded as co-producer and serve as the broadcaster in the United States, Canada and Australia.
Malcolm McDowell (Franklin & Bash), Samson Kayo (Sliced), Emma D'Arcy (Wild Bill), Susan Wokoma (Year Of The Rabbit), Julian Barratt (Killing Eve), Morgana Robinson (The Windsors), Kate Nash (GLOW) and Kevin Eldon (Sanditon) have joined the cast of Truth Seekers, Amazon Prime Video's horror comedy series from Nick Frost and Simon Pegg.
The Lord Of The Rings had found its helmer. J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The Impossible) has been tapped to direct the opening block of episodes of Amazon Prime Video's TV series based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novels.
