ABC Family is continuing to build the cast for their Mortal Instruments adaptation Shadowhunters. Canadian actress Maxim Roy has joined the cast of the drama series in the recurring role of Jocelyn Fray, the mother of central character Clary Fray. 
After recurring on the most recent season, Portia de Rossi has been upped to series regular status for the upcoming fifth season of Scandal. She plays Elizabeth North, the Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee. Initially a rival of White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry), she ultimately became campaign manager on First Lady Mellie Grant's run for the Senate.
