ABC’s ‘Quantico’ Gets Full Season Order
One of the hottest new dramas of the Fall season is extending its run. ABC has handed out what they are calling a "full-season" order to FBI terrorism drama Quantico starring Priyanka Chopra. In a departure from the norm, however, the pick-up is only for six additional episodes rather than the more traditional "back nine". The reduced order is said to accommodate ABC's hectic midseason schedule, which may preclude the network from airing a 22 episode season.
Marvel is expanding their TV universe into half-hour comedy. ABC has teamed with corporate sibling Marvel Television to develop Damage Control, a half-hour scripted comedy series based on the comic book series of the same name, TVWise has learned.
ABC is once again moving forward with a Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off. After initially developing the project last season, the network has handed out an official pilot order to Marvel's Most Wanted, an hour-long drama series that will revolve around Bobbi Morse (AKA Mockingbird) and Lance Hunter. Both Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, who played the two characters on S.H.I.E.L.D., are on-board to reprise their roles on the proposed spin-off.
ABC is continuing to build the cast for Quantico. Mere days after the network announced that Private Practice and Cougar Town star Josh Hopkins had joined the cast as series regular, The Flash's Rick Cosnett has been tapped for a recurring role in the FBI drama, TVWise has learned.
ABC has tapped The Walking Dead alum Sunkrish Bala for a recurring role on the eighth season of their hit procedural Castle, TVWise has confirmed. Bala, whose many television credits also includes stints on NCIS, Scorpion and Modern Family, will play Vikram Singh, a high-strung, tech analyst with a complicated past.
Parenthood star Peter Krause has been set at the male lead in The Catch, ABC's upcoming Mireille Enos fronted drama series from ABC Studios, Shonda Rhimes and her production company Shondaland. He will play Kieran Booth, a successful, longtime con man who lives the good life with other people's money. But has he met his match with his latest mark, Alice? Krause replaces Damon Dayoub, who played the role in the pilot.
