After a months long search, ITV has found the lead actress for their Prime Suspect prequel series Tennison. Stefanie Martini, who is coming off of a starring role in NBC's upcoming The Wizard Of Oz series Emerald City, will take on the part of a Jane Tennison - the role played by Dame Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect between 1991 and 2006. Martini's previous credits include Doctor Thorne and Endeavour. 
BBC One is set to explore two inter-twined gay love stories in a new two-part drama titled Man In An Orange Shirt, from British novelist Patrick Gale and Broadchurch indie Kudos Film & Television.
ITV Studios Global Entertainment - the international distribution division of ITV Studios - has promoted Ruth Clarke to the position of Managing Director, TVWise has learned. As MD, Clarke will oversee ITV Studios’ global distribution strategy and will continue to preside over the distributor’s content acquisition activity. She will report directly to Maria Kyriacou, President of International for ITV Studios.
BBC One has released a first look image from the upcoming fourth season of Sherlock. The image in question shows lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch in character as Sherlock Holmes as he consults a canine companion. The BBC said the image come from the first episode from season four. 
Karen Bradley has been appointed as the new Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport by Prime Minister Theresa May. This is a promotion for Bradley, who was elected to Parliament as the MP for Staffordshire Moorlands in May 2010, and marks her first cabinet role. She previously worked under Theresa May at the Home Office, serving most recently as Minister for Preventing Abuse, Exploitation and Crime.
