eOne Takes Majority Stake In Whizz Kid Entertainment
Entertainment One (eOne) has secured a majority stake in independent production company Whizz Kid Entertainment. The indie's founder and CEO Malcolm Gerrie and Managing Director Lisa Chapman will remain in their current posts, reporting into Tara Long, Executive Vice-President of Alternative Television for eOne. UKTV has hired ITV Studios exec Ronan Hand to serve in the newly created role of Director of Programme Funding. Channel 5 has agreed a deal with Entertainment One (eOne) to secure UK rights to Canadian procedural The Detail and second window rights to ABC's Designated Survivor. This marks the second UK deal for Designated Survivor.
