Showtime Renews Jim Carrey Comedy ‘Kidding’ For Second Season
Showtime has renewed their Jim Carrey comedy Kidding for a second season. The premium cable network has ordered ten episodes for the show's sophomore run, which is expected to air in 2019. Under the terms of the output deal between Showtime and Sky, Sky Atlantic holds the exclusive UK rights to Kidding. Fox has handed out a back nine order to their Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife, Gilmore Girls) fronted medical drama The Resident. The show's second season will now consist of twenty-two episodes. That is up from the fourteen episodes that comprised season one.
Population Media Center - who, alongside Wise Entertainment, produced East Los High - has announced that following the success of the Hulu original they are launching a dedicated U.S. content division. The company has tapped industry veteran Lisa Caruso to lead said division.

Skybound Entertainment - the company set up by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and David Alpert - has teamed up with Sony Pictures Television to launch Skybound Galactic, a new production company that will finance the development and production of scripted television series.
