DRG & The Development Partnership Extend Relationship Into Scripted

DRG and The Development Partnership are extending their relationship. The two companies, who previously pacted together for non-scripted, have agreed a first-look deal for scripted content. Under the deal, which initially runs two years, The Development Partnership will develop scripted projects for both DRG and Atrium TV - DRG's wholly owned 'commissioning club' which aims to deliver premium, high profile drama content for delivery by regional OTT players and TelCos (BT TV is the club member for the UK market). The first such drama being developed under this deal is the previously announced Atrium TV project Cyrano, toplined by Joseph Fiennes, which was launched to club members at MIPCOM. Read More

StarzPlay’s Launch On Virgin Media Delayed

UPDATE. November 28th: StarzPlay will be launching on Virgin Media a little later than initially planned. I'm hearing that due to technical issues, the streaming service from the U.S. premium cable network will not be launching on the Virgin Media platform tomorrow (November 29th) as originally planned. Virgin are working to remedy the issue and "ensure the best possible experience" for customers. No word yet on a revised launch date for StarzPlay. Read More

Heyday Television Taps Tom Winchester As President

Heyday Television has named former DNA Films and TV Creative Director Tom Winchester as President. He will lead the UK business and will work closely with founder David Heyman to grow the company's slate of high-end scripted series. He takes up his new post in January. Read More

Horror Bites & CBS Catchup Channels UK To Launch On Freeview Play In December, CBS Action To Re-Brand As CBS Justice

The CBS AMC UK Channels Partnership - the joint venture between AMC Networks International and CBS Studios International that is behind such channels as CBS Drama and CBS Action - has announced that they are launching VOD services Horror Bites and CBS Catchup Channels UK next month. Both services will be available on Freeview Play from December 6th and will offer catch up shows thirty days after broadcast. Horror Bites will provide said content from Horror Channel; while CBS Catchup Channels UK will provide content from CBS Reality, CBS Drama and CBS Action. Read More
