Exclusive: Just 24 hours after we broke the story that Breaking Bad season 3 would receive its UK premiere on DVD rather than on television, I have learned that Disney is going the same route with the fourth season of their medical drama series Private Practice, which TVWise recently confirmed to be without a UK broadcaster following Sky Living’s decision to drop the series.
Sony Entertainment Television has acquired the UK broadcast rights to the second season of Community from Sony Pictures Television and they have already set a premiere date for the series: Tuesday April 10th at 10:30 pm.
Last month TVWise broke an in depth report on Syfy’s upcoming series Defiance. At the time we also revealed profiles of several of the major characters. We can now reveal that Jamie Murray, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas and Tony Curran have joined the cast of the series, with all four of them assuming roles that we initially told you about last month.
Exclusive: ITV does have the UK broadcast rights to season 4 of In Plain Sight and intends to broadcast the show’s fourth season later on this year, sources at the channel confirm exclusively to TVWise.
Sky Atlantic has closed a deal with FX Productions to acquires the UK broadcast rights to Russell Brand’s new US unscripted talk show, Strangely Uplifting. The series is expected to premiere on the channel in the summer.
American animated series Napoleon Dynamite will receive its UK premiere on E4 on Tuesday March 20th at 10:30pm.
UKTV’s Watch has picked up the UK rights to Primeval: New World, the Canadian spin-off of Primeval, it has been announced. Watch is expected to begin airing the series later this year.
