NBC has picked up drama pilots Do No Harm and Infamous to series. These are the latest series pickups for the network, who will present their schedule to advertisers at their upfront presentation on Monday.
NBC has renewed 30 Rock and Parenthood, both of which will return next season.
Someone hand me the wine. ABC Studios’ comedy series Cougar Town has been picked up by TBS and renewed for a fourth season, which wil air on the cable network in early 2013. While representative of TBS declined to comment, sources tell me that the pickup is for 15 episodes and that the network already has their eyes on a fifth season to air in 2014. Additionally, TBS has acquired the rights to the first three seasons of the show.
Fox has officially cancelled comedy series’ Breaking In and I Hate My Teenage Daughter.
As part of their continuing commitment to original programming, DirecTV’s Audience Network has ordered Rogue, their first original drama series, with a 10 episode order. Production is slated to begin on the series in August, with the cable network eyeing a premiere in the summer of 2013.
On the heels of renewing Touch and cancelling The Finder and Alcatraz, Fox has picked up five of its pilot to series. The pick ups include dramas The Following & The Mob Doctor and comedies Ben & Kate, It’s Messy and The Goodwin Games.
Fox has renewed freshman drama series Touch for a second season and cancelled it’s other two remaining new drama series: Alcatraz and The Finder. I’m also being told that the intial order for the second season of Touch is for 13 episodes, with the network eyeing a fall premiere.
It looks like comedies are going to be a big part of NBC’s 2012 – 2013 schedule. The network has picked up comedy project Guys With Kids to series.
