BBC One Orders Entertainment Pilot ‘No Strings Attached’

BBC One has given the green-light to a new entertainment pilot, tentatively titled No Strings Attached, which is being co-produced by BBC In-House Entertainment, The Jim Henson Company and Baker Coogan Productions. All of the puppets that are to be used in No Strings Attached have been created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop in Los Angeles, where the puppets used in series such as The Muppets and Farscape were also created.

BBC Two Orders New Drama ‘The Politician’s Husband’

BBC two has ordered a new three part drama serial titled The Politician’s Husband. The one-off drama was created by Paula Milne (White Heat) and is being produced for BBC Two by Daybreak Pictures. Production is currently underway on The Politican’s Husband in London.

Fox Announces Fall Premiere Dates: ‘Bones’, ‘Glee’ & ‘The Mob Doctor’ Premiere Early, ‘Touch’ Pushed To October

Following NBC’s lead, Fox has announced the premiere dates for its fall line-up. Much like the peacock, Fox is staggering its premieres, all of which will occur between early September and late October. Kicking things off is the two night premiere of the new season of X Factor (September 12 – September 13), which will be followed by the fourth season premiere of Glee on Thursday September 13th at 9/8c. Also launching ahead of the “official premiere week” is the new season of Bones which begins on Monday September 17th at 9/8c, followed by the series premiere of The Mob Doctor at 10/9c. The rest of the network’s new and returning series are launching in late September or October, with Fringe‘s final season set to premiere on Friday September 28th and the sophomore run of Touch being held back until Friday October 26th.

NBC Announces Fall Premiere Dates: ‘Animal Practice’ & ‘Go On’ Get Olympic Previews, ‘Community’ Pushed To October

NBC is the first of the five broadcast network to announced premiere dates for its fall line up. As expected, most series are launching early than usual, with Animal Practice & Go On launching, with special preview episodes, behind coverage of the Olympics. which is sure to be a ratings juggernaut. Also launching in August is Grimm which, from August 13th, will air four episodes on Monday nights at 10pm before relocating to its resident Friday night 9pm time-slot on September 14th. The rest of NBC’s new and returning series are getting staggered launches through September, with the Sony Pictures Television produced Community being held back for a premiere on October 19th.

Update: A spokesperson for Channel 5 just issued the following statement regarding Parenthood‘s move to daytime: “Parenthood has been played in a variety of slots but unfortunately has not done as well as we had hoped which is why we have decided to try it in daytime. It is a quality drama with a family appeal which is why we feel it will lend itself well to a daytime audience.”
