Sky Atlantic Orders Improvised Stand Up Series ‘Set List’

Sky Atlantic has ordered a new entertainment series titled Set List. The new series is a fully improvised stand-up show which will take place in front of a live audience. The broadcaster has ordered 14 episodes for the show’s first season, which will feature such comedians as Robin Williams, Ross Noble, Russell Kane, Tim Minchin, Drew Carey, Frank Skinner and Dara O’Briain.

Netflix Picks Up Exclusive UK Rights To New Season of ‘Arrested Development’ & FX’s Comedy Series ‘The League’

Netflix UK & Ireland has closed a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive rights to the upcoming fourth season of comedy series Arrested Development and FX’s comedy series The League, which revolves around six friends competing in a fantasy football league. The first three seasons of Arrested Development are already available to subscribers of the streaming service, with the show’s 10 episode fourth season set to premiere on Netflix in early 2013.

Comedy Central Acquires UK Rights To ‘How To Be A Gentleman’

Exclusive: Well this one very nearly slipped under the radar. Sources tell me that Comedy Central has closed a deal with CBS Studios International to acquire the exclusive first run pay TV rights to CBS’ short lived comedy series How To Be A Gentleman. I’m also being told that Comedy Central has set the premiere for the show’s nine episode first season for Monday July 9th at 9:30pm.

BBC America Picks Up Canadian Sci-Fi Series ‘Orphan Black’

BBC America has picked up a new 10 part science fiction series titled Orphan Black, which had previously been green-lit by Canada’s Bell Media for their Space channel. Ten episodes have been ordered for the show’s first season, which will air as part of the network’s ‘Supernatural Saturday’ programming block.
