As part of Channel 5 continuing investment in original programming, the commercial broadcater has ordered a new four part motoring/engineering series titled Motor Morphers. The four part series, which will be produced by ITN productions, will see two teams of engineers transform utility vehicles into something completely different. The four part series is tentatively scheduled to air on Channel 5 in 2013.

EXCLUSIVE: Sky1’s family comedy series Starlings is adding to its cast for its upcoming second season. My sources tell me that Sydney Rae White, repped by United Agents and best known for her role on CBBC’s Young Dracula, has been cast in the series. Details of her role are being kept under wraps but one source tells me that she will be playing a new relative who will be introduced in the season 2 opener. Starlings, created by Matt King and Steve Edge, follows the lives of the Starlings family, a typical working class brood living in a detached house in Matlock, Derbyshire and stars Matt King, Brendan Coyle, Lesley Sharp, Alan Williams, Finn Atkins, John Dagleish, Rebecca Night and Ukweli Roach. The series is produced by Baby Cow Productions, with Henry Normal and Steve Coogan serving as executive producers. Production is currently underway on the show’s 8 episode second season, with Sky1 eyeing a Spring 2013 premiere.
