EXCLUSIVE: Last month Sky Living announced the commission of Love Matters, a strand of six comedy one-offs (not dissimilar to Sky1’s Little Crackers). The six one-off’s that were announced were to be produced by various production companies ranging from various indies to ITV Studios. One such one-off was to be produced by independent production company Channel X and was titled Officially Special. My sources are telling me that not only has Channel X found its cast and director for Officially Special but that the one-off completed shooting earlier this month.
EXCLUSIVE: It certainly looks as though BBC One & Phil McIntrye Television are pleased with the work of Dewi Humphreys. I’ve learned that the director – who helmed the not-for-broadcast pilot of Slings and Arrows earlier this year – has been tapped to direct the six episode comedy series, which is due to begin production next month in Manchester. In addition, my sources are also telling me that Beattie Edmondson has joined the cast of the comedy series in a regular role. Edmondson will play Victoria, the girlfriend of Susan, whom is the daughter of main character Gerald B Meakin.
