USA Network has handed a ten-episode third season renewal to sophomore series Neccessary Roughness. The drama series, which is set to return to finish airing its sixteen episode second season on January 23rd, had been the only question mark for USA Network since the network cancelled Fairly Legal & Common Law and opted not to pursue a second season of its limited-series Political Animals.

Last November Syfy announced that Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome would premiere as a ten-part web series on the Machinima Prime Youtube channel, before the network would air the proposed pilot as a two-hour TV movie in February 2013. TVWise has since learned that the network will air Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome on Sunday February 10th at 9/8c.

EXCLUSIVE: I’ve learned that Brenda Edwards and Joanne Matthews have been cast as series regulars in Ben Elton’s upcoming BBC One comedy series The Wright Way (formerly known as Slings and Arrows). My sources tell me that both actresses have been with the project from the early stages and were part of the cast assembled for the not-for-broadcast pilot that was shot at Teddington Studios on August 4th. Edwards, perhaps best know as a former contestant on The X-Factor, has had a varied acting career on the West End which has included roles on Chicago, Carmen Jones and We Will Rock You (which was also penned by Ben Elton). Joanne Matthews has been cast as Susan, Gerald B. Meakin’s daughter. Her previous credits include appearances on Holby City, Cardinal Burns and Call The Midwife.
