UKTV has closed deals with Electric Sky and Sky Vision to acquire the exclusive UK rights to Mummy Mysteries and Alexander’s Lost World for its Yesterday channel. Both shows are set to complement a special season of programming scheduled for Q2 2013 and follow previous factual acquisitions which have included Perfect Storms: Disasters That Changed The World.
After initally cancelling the series earlier this year, Lifetime has reached a deal with Sony Pictures Television to renew Drop Dead Diva for a fifth season, TVWise has confirmed. The news was first reported by Deadline.
The clock has stopped ticking on Zero Hour. ABC has cancelled the low-rated drama series and pulled all remaining episodes from the schedule, effective immediately. Zero Hour is the third freshman series on ABC to have been cancelled and follows the cancellations of 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort.
The CW’s teen drama series 90210 has been cancelled, the network has announced. The current fifth season will be the show’s last, with the May 13th season finale also serving as the series finale.
Syfy has renewed drama series Lost Girl for a fourth season of 13 episodes, which is set to air in 2014.
Sky Living has given the green-light to My Kitchen Rules, a UK version of the hit Australian format. The series has been give an order for ten episodes and in addition to ordering a UK version, Sky Living has also acquired the UK broadcast rights to the original series, which airs on Seven Network in Australia.
ABC has announced that reality series The Bachelorette will return to the network to begin airing its ninth season on Monday May 20th at 9/8c, before moving to its regular 8/7c time-slot the following week; and that scripted series Mistresses will premiere on Monday May 27th at 10/9c.
The National Geographic Channel has announced that the two-hour docudrama Killing Lincoln will receive its UK premiere on the channel on Sunday March 3rd at 8pm.
