‘Doctor Who’ Executive Producer Caroline Skinner Steps Down

Caroline Skinner, who has been with Doctor Who since 2011, is stepping down as executive producer, BBC Cymru Wales has announced. Skinner will now join BBC Drama Production in London. BBC Wales’ Head of Drama Faith Penhale will take over as the executive producer on the 50th Anniversary with immediate effect. The BBC is currently recruiting for a new executive producer to take over the role for the show’s eighth series.

BBC Four Acquires UK Rights To ‘Arne Dahl’ & ‘Inspector Da Luca’

BBC Four has closed deals to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Arne Dahl & Inspector Da Luca, it has been announced. Both series are set to join BBC Four’s Saturday night line up later this year. In addition, the channel has also confirmed that they have picked up the rights to the new season of Inspector Montalbano, prequel series Young Montalbano, Borgen season 3, The Bridge season 2 and (as TVWise previously reported) Australian mini-series Howzat! UKTV has closed a deal with Lucky Day to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Tareq Taylor’s Nordic Cookery for its Good Food channel.
