Universal Channel has closed a deal with NBCUniversal International Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to A&E’s drama series Bates Motel. Universal Channel’s deal with NBCU covers both seasons of the series.
The first season of NBC’s drama series Hannibal will receive its UK premiere on Sky Living on Tuesday May 7th at 10pm, it has been announced.
EXCLUSIVE: Brian Belo & Ben Shillito have teamed up for a new dramedy pilot titled Team Panache. My sources tell me that the dramedy pilot is set in the world of reality television and the concept has been described as a show-within-a-show à la 30 Rock and Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip. I understand that the pilot is being independently produced and at present there are no UK broadcasters attached to the project, although the producers hope to place Team Panache with a major broadcaster in the coming weeks/months.
Hell On Wheels is on the move. AMC has announced that the third season of the western drama will premiere on Saturday August 3rd at 9/8c, moving from its regular Sunday night time-slot. The move has been hailed as allowing AMC to have a genre specific day on Saturdays, with 14 hours of western themed programming and movies leading into new episodes of the series.
The first season of Canadian drama series The LA Complex will receive its UK premiere on MTV on Wednesday May 8th at 9pm, it has been announced.
The first season of Cinemax’s drama series Banshee will receive its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic on Monday April 29th at 10pm, it has been announced.
Keeley Hawes (Spooks), Robert Lindsay (Spy) and Jessica Raine (Call The Midwife) have joined the cast of BBC Two’s ratings hit Line of Duty for its second season. Keeley Hawes has been cast as Detective Inspector Lindsay Denton, a police officer at the center of AC-12’s new investigation; Robert Lindsay as Deputy Chief Constable Mike Dryden, the second in command of the Police force; and Jessica Raine as Detective Constable Georgia Trotman, the newest member of AC-12.
The second season of HBO’s drama series The Newsroom will premiere on Sunday July 14th at 10/9c, it has been announced,
