History UK has commissioned BSkyB’s Sky Vision to produced a five episode factual series titled Heroes of War which will reveal many of the unsung war heroes from World War II. The series will air on History’s sister channel H2, which launches in the UK on May 4th. The series will also air on History in select countries across Europe.
The second season of The CW’s drama series Hart of Dixie will receive its UK premiere on UKTV’s Really channel on Monday June 3rd at 8pm, it has been announced.
TLC has closed a deal with Disney Media Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Lifetime’s drama series Devious Maids and ABC’s drama series Mistresses. The acquisitions come ahead of the channel’s launch on April 30th, when it will be available on Sky (channel 125), Virgin Media (channel 167), BT Vision (channel 875) and YouView on the TalkTalk Player, as well as via Sky, Virgin Media and BT Vision’s on-demand services. Mistresses is set to premiere on TLC shortly after it debuts on ABC this Summer, while Devious Maids will premiere next year.
ABC Family has picked up its drama pilot Chasing Life (formerly known as Terminales) to series. Production on the series is slated to commence this July in Santa Clarita, with the network eyeing an early 2014 premiere. Chasing Life joins The Fosters, Twisted and Ravenswood, all of which recently received series orders at the network.
ITV’s two-part drama Murder On The Home Front will premiere on Thursday May 9th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Sky Atlantic has released a 30 second trailer for the upcoming 10 episode third season of The Borgias, which is set to premiere on Monday June 17th at 9pm.
ITV’s three-part drama series Life of Crime will premiere on Friday May 10th at 9pm, it has been announced.
The fifth and final season of NBC’s drama series Friday Night Lights will receive its UK premere on Sky Atlantic on Tuesday May 14th at 8pm, it has been announced.
